CMMi :Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) in software engineering and organizational development is a process improvement approach that provides organizations with the essential elements for effective process improvement. It can be used to guide process improvement across a project, or an entire organization.

P-CMM : People Capability Maturity Model is a maturity framework that focuses on continuously improving the management and development of the human assets of an organization. It describes an evolutionary improvement path from ad hoc, inconsistently performed practices, to a mature, disciplined, and continuously improving development of the knowledge, skills, and motivation of the workforce that enhances strategic business performance.

Level 3 to Level 5...

MindTree achieved the two most valuable CMM frameworks – CMMi and P-CMM – before its fifth-year anniversary in May 2004.

"In achieving CMMi Level 5, MindTree has taken a significant leap from CMM Level 3, for which it was assessed in May 2002. This makes MindTree one of the youngest companies in the world to reach the highest level of maturity in the CMMi framework.

Six Sigma: Six Sigma is a business management strategy, initially implemented by Motorola, that today enjoys widespread application in many sectors of industry.

Black Belt, Green Belt...

Six Sigma seeks to improve the quality of process outputs by identifying and removing the causes of defects (errors) and variability in manufacturing and business processes. It uses a set of quality management methods, including statistical methods, and creates a special infrastructure of people within the organization ("Black Belts","Green Belts", etc.) who are experts in these methods. Each Six Sigma project carried out within an organization follows a defined sequence of steps and has quantified financial targets (cost reduction or profit increase).

MindTree's processes and systems are based on industry standards like PCMM, Six Sigma, P-CMM Certification, CMMI Level 5 Certification

Billion Dollar Company: According to David Thomson's “A Blueprint to a Billion”, only one in 20,000 ideas fructifies into a Billion Dollar Company. History shows that once a company gets past that $1-billion mark, its further rise gets to be more rapid. There are more than 1,000 software companies in India but only six earn annual revenues in excess of $1 billion each.

2009 ... 2014 ...

MindTree aims to be part of this elite group by 2014. This is
included in the Vision statement of MindTree.

Corporate Governance is the set of processes, customs, policies, laws, and institutions affecting the way a corporation (or company) is directed, administered or controlled. Corporate governance also includes the relationships among the many stakeholders involved and the goals for which the corporation is governed.

An important theme of corporate governance is to ensure the accountability of certain individuals in an organization through mechanisms that try to reduce or eliminate the principal-agent problem. A related discussion focuses on the impact of a corporate governance system in economic efficiency, with a strong emphasis on shareholders' welfare. There are yet other aspects to the corporate governance subject, such as the stakeholder view and the corporate governance models around the world.

MindTree Limited was declared the winner of the National Award for Excellence in Corporate Governance for 2007-08. The award is given by the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) to the top two companies every year. MindTree was declared the winner by a panel of eminent members from the industry and regulatory bodies. The recognition was based on multiple criteria such as ethical business conduct, transparency, integrity, maintaining sustainable relationships with all stakeholders in its corporate family, corporate social responsibility and future vision.
