Veranda: From the Hindi word 'varanda', meaning balcony.
Punch: From the Sanskrit word 'panc'; a beverage of fruit juices and sometimes a soft drink or carbonated water, often spiced and mixed with a wine or liquor base.
Betel: From the Malayalam word ‘vettila’; an east Indian pepper plant, the leaves of which are chewed with other ingredients.
