[Word Powers] Today's Words

Jocular (JOK-yuh-ler) (adj):

 

1.       Funny or intended to make someone laugh.

          We passed the night making jocular comments about opera stars.

 

2.       Describes someone who is happy and likes to make jokes.

           Michael was in a very jocular mood at the party.

               

Inveigle (in-VEY-guhl) (verb):  To persuade someone to do something in a clever and dishonest way, when they do not want to do it.

Her son tried to inveigle her into giving him the money for a car.
